India shines bright at the Cambridge University!

9 students from across India (grades 9-12) bag medals & certifications at the Cambridge Economics & Finance Competition hosted by the Cambridge CAMSIF (Cambridge Student Investment Fund) and CUFIS (Cambridge University Finance and Investment Society)


It gives us great pleasure to share with you the highlights of our recent Cambridge Economics & Finance Competition (CEFC) Global Round 2025, hosted at the prestigious University of Cambridge, UK. Over the course of this enriching journey, our students not only engaged with world-class academics and professionals but also immersed themselves in the unique culture and traditions of Cambridge.

This program provided them with invaluable exposure to the academic rigor of Cambridge, practical insights into economics and finance, and a taste of the global student community.


Day 1 – A Traditional Cambridge Welcome



HIGHLIGHTS -

  • Welcome address by Professor Simon Taylor, University of Cambridge

  • First exposure to Cambridge etiquette, heritage, and academic culture

  • Hosted in a historic college dining hall

  • Students received a warm introduction to Cambridge with a formal college dinner steeped in tradition.


Day 2 – Exploring Cambridge: From Academic Insights to River Adventures



The day beautifully blended academic learning with local experiences.


  • Introduction to CUFIS & CamSIF, Cambridge’s top finance societies

  • Insights into Cambridge’s world-famous Economics program

  • Lecture by Prof. Simon Taylor on Macroeconomics

  • Tour of the Faculty of Economics & Library

  • Punting on the River Cam – exploring iconic bridges and colleges


Day 3 – Preparation, Performance & Investment Skills



Academic challenge and career preparation took center stage.


  • Written exam under Cambridge standards and supervision

  • Application preparation workshop – personal statements, CVs & interviews

  • Exposure to Cambridge’s Supervision System

  • Stock Pitch Investment Workshop:

    • Company valuation

    • Risk assessment

    • Business model analysis


Day 4 – Real-World Learning & Career Growth

Students gained clarity on future opportunities and professional pathways.


  • Group Project Development & presentation planning

  • Career readiness session:

    • Internships abroad

    • Resume building

    • UK vs. US university expectations

  • Alumni Roundtable with professionals from JP Morgan, Evercore & Rothschild & Co

  • Meaningful networking with Cambridge alumni and faculty


Day 5 – Grand Finale at Cambridge

The final day featured the Stock Pitch Presentations, where teams showcased their investment analysis in a 15-minute pitch followed by a Q&A with judges—testing their research, logic, and confidence under pressure.


This real-world challenge reflected the recruitment standards of top firms like J.P. Morgan, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley, giving students valuable career exposure.


The day ended with group photos and celebrations across the Cambridge campus, marking new friendships and unforgettable memories.


This closes a remarkable journey of learning, leadership, and global exposure at the

St. Catharines College, University of Cambridge.
